Do you need a pneumatic punch press for each aluminum system?

Yes, in most cases, you do. Even when systems come from the same manufacturer, different system types typically require different punch presses.
While materials from the same family can sometimes share dies, each system’s unique profiles and fabrication requirements mean dedicated dies are almost always necessary. A single punch press can be equipped with up to nine dies, each designed for a specific task.
One die may handle round holes, another may produce slots, while others are designed for notches, pressure-plate holes, or face-cover cutouts. This multi-die capability allows one machine to perform many operations efficiently. However, it doesn’t replace the need for system-specific tooling, since every aluminum system has its own engineered specifications.
Using the correct punch press and die set ensures accuracy, speeds up fabrication, and guarantees the finished system fits together perfectly.
